Born in the year of the tiger; astrology sign Leo, jaskiew have an entrepreneur mindset. Having been online since 1995, progressing from a youth with no priorities while having fun online to now where opportunities still opens up. Back in the old days, he was active on bulletin boards, internet relay chats and user groups. He used to organize user meetings for groups to hundreds of people, particularly those from soc.culture.sg and a few others. It was an interesting experience.
His love of music since he was a kid and the experience of being involved in the night scene as a clubber since 18 both in Singapore and overseas have helped fueled his interest in music, and have progressed along the years in musical tastes and preferences while still retaining his liking for edm music, particularly trance and harder, faster genres.
Back in Singapore after 3 years in Taiwan as a financial specialist, it was then that he got together with a group of liked minded individuals and co-founded Trance Republic in 2002, because back then, there was zero trance in Singapore for trance fans and the lack of this spiritual music in Singapore at that time gave him a motivation for wanting to hear it himself from a fan point of view and to reach out to others who have similar love for the music. It was the start of a milestone for trance music in Singapore.
Pushing the sound with his fellow djs, they started playing out in Milkbar at gallery hotel and proceeded to Liquid Room, Phuture, Zouk, Home Club where he have entertained crowds of a few thousands. On any typical night, he would prefer to let his fingers do the talking while observing the crowd and making sure everyone have a good time, despite not being the best around technically, he believes himself to be a crowd pleaser and is happy to see all the smiles down the console. He currently is involved in marcom and public relations for the Singapore Trance consortium.
Having have had his chance and time djing in clubs and house parties all over singapore, a passion and hobby is still one. Another opportunity came in where he met an ex-collegue and opened himself towards the professional financial services industry for a few years. In a chance encounter in 2005, he had the opportunity to catch up with old internet chatting and gaming buddy, Andrew Wee, that was when he saw another platform where there is a lot of potential growth. Andrew got into blogging, internet and affiliate marketing and spoke to him about it. Althought quite skeptical, he keeps an open mindset. Upon the invitation of Andrew, he went for an IM preview and learnt some interesting stuff, which he knew some but did not really went exploring and trying it during his 11 years in the internet. 2 niche websites and a personal website was setup to try to use whatever time he have and work on it and explore new grounds in blogging, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, all areas of internet communications and see how far it will go. However due to work commitments, there was not much time for the 2 websites and he decided not to keep them.
